Smalley Census Returns

Most recorded census returns in the UK took place from 1841 onwards. However earlier censuses took place in 1801 and 1811 and the returns were often recorded in the Parish Registers. Fortunately, the 1801 and 1811 returns for Smalley have survived in the parish registers. These include population returns; crop and acreage reports, and comments by the incumbent on the godliness of his parishioners. Transcription of the 1841 - 1871 census returns has now been completed, as has the 1891. I will probably at some stage transcribe the 1901 census, though I am unlikely to do the 1881 as it is so easily available. However I do have both on file so, as they give more detail than any index, I am happy to help with queries.
