This Redgate family, although in Smalley for probably more
than two centuries, seems to have scattered by the mid 19th century. It is based on a small
pedigree by Rev Charles Kerry and, apart from a couple of suppositions, has been relatively
easy to trace.
However, it seems now that there is a very probable flaw in the
conclusions. It is currently being revised and any contributions would be welcomed.
